Skullcandy Grind Wired On-Ear Headphones Review
If you prefer on-ear, foam-padded headphones to the more common, in-ear sports headphones type, we encourage you to take a look at the Skullcandy Grind. At $40, they’re an inexpensive pair of low-profile headphones that offer awesome sound and a lot of features typically found in more expensive models.
Most notably, the Skullcandy Grind offers a built-in mic, so you can use them to take phone calls while in the middle of your workout. There are on-ear controls, too, so you can pause and skip music without needing to fumble with your phone. And when the workout is done, the Grind has a detachable cable for easy storage in your gym bag.
We should note that while these headphones will stand up to many gym activities, their on-ear fit may not be ideal for those with especially aggressive routines with sharp movements. They’re not waterproof, either—something outdoor runners will want to consider.
Still, those quibbles aside, the Skullcandy Grind will stand up well for most gym uses. They’re our pick for the best on-ear sports headphones, especially if you’re looking for a great value.
