JBL Pulse 2 Wireless Speaker Review
Not content to only produce great sound, the JBL Pulse 2 is designed to provide great visuals as well—it’s multi-LED color lights change and move with your music. There are 12 different light show presets (you can change them manually or via the companion app). There’s also an embedded prism sensor that can scan your favorite color, which is decidedly cool.
The JBL Pulse 2 doesn’t skimp on quality sound. It’s crisp and clear at low volumes. Like most wireless speakers, it experiences some distortion at higher volumes, but we are impressed at how loud it is for its size. Two can be linked together to produce true stereo sound, but at $180 each, a second speaker is a hefty (if pretty!) investment.
We will admit that the JBL Pulse 2’s light-up feature is pure gimmickry. But it’s a really fun gimmick that adds to the appeal here. Given that its fundamentals are solid, we can proudly recommend the JBL Pulse 2 as the best wireless speaker with a built-in light show.
